I’m so stoked for the premier of Season Two Hell on Wheels, I can’t stand it. Everyone must watch this show. Okay. Maybe not everyone, but everyone who likes history, or westerns, or interesting characters, should definitely watch this show.

I watched this teaser literally nine or ten times trying to figure who was in bed with Lily. I think the first one is The Swede (not in bed but at her bedside) and you can’t identify the second guy who is in the embrace. Guess who I’m rooting for being the second guy, hopeless romantic that I am? I love a wounded underdog and Cullen Bohannon is it. And don’t get me started about those intense green-eyed stares. AMC is running the whole first season beginning at 11:oo am with the Season Two Premier at 9:00 pm pst. (Our Time Warner AMCHD chanel has the series starting at 8 am pst) The season premier can be seen at 6 pm on HD here in California and I’ll be there. I might even have to execute my first tweet but no promises and no spoilers ever.
So there has been discussion among friends, mostly instigated by me, about Anson Mount’s hotness but the need for his character to have a bath. I’m not sure if he changed his clothes the whole first season. But that’s what I loved about Hell on Wheels. It’s so darned gritty. My first historical romance published in 2003 was a Western set in the New Mexico Territory. The characters were on the run for most of the book and regular baths were not in the plot. When I had to describe images for the cover art, I kept thinking dusty, dirty and brown. I don’t think I ever described my hero quite as scraggly as Cullen often looks but note to self: it works.
From what I can glean from the Second Season trailers, Cullen has longer hair and is pretty unkempt but cleaner. I think he also has on a new vest, maybe a whole new outfit. I’m happy for Lily cause I’ll be watching with bated breath for the hook-up.

Cheryl, okay, you know I’m one of the chicks who comments about Cullen’s need for some grooming. Dude–instead of spending all your money on liquor, there are baths for sale in that camp! Use ’em!

I’m still working on an opinion about the moppy hair. Sexy moppy? Dirty moppy? Moppy moppy?
That sex clinch was so fast that I couldn’t’ even see that it included Lily. You freeze-framed that, didn’t you! LOL. I’m gonna puke if someone gets her drunk and she falls into bed with them. I can see the writers doing something like that, just to keep Lils and Cullen apart. Actually, I’m more intrigued by the prostitute with the tattoos and I think Cullen and she would be interesting together….
Or they could just introduce a love interest named Cheryl. Hee.

So after reviewing the clip several more times, I think Durant is in the first scene with Lily looking half-dressed. Though I tried to freeze-frame the sex clinch it was too damn fast. I think its Lily because it looks like she’s in the same white corset thing from the earlier scene. I might be fooled completely. Eva, tattoo girl, is Elam’s woman, so that would be tricky with his tentative relationship with Cullen. Besides, I think Cullen and Eva are both super wounded and cynical. They need the counter balance with another type. Like Cheryl the innocent schoolmarm.
