im really enjoying your book secret pleasures however i coud’nt stop laughing when i read that the otherduke outweighed darrien by 20 stones im assuming that its a typo and he’s not enormously obese
I’m so glad you are enjoying Secret Pleasures. I’m American and maybe totally misconstrued the stones to weight thing. My mother-in-law and her family are British/Scottish. I know they often use stones to describe weight. I could have gotten confused with lbs, though I know I did research it. I’ll check and compare to pounds, but the duke, Marcus, is tall and muscular compared to Darien and I wanted him to outweight him. I was thinking they are 50 lbs apart. Just checked and it is a typo. I meant two. Thanks so much for commenting. And since I see you are from the UK, I hope I didn’t sound too American. My mother-in-law’s voice rings in my ears often. And my little brother’s girlfriend is from Liverpool. She had her first Thanksgiving and I think she liked it.

You can’t leave us hanging in suspense about poor Robert and Arianna !!! How could she walk away from her injured beloved ?? Surely not out of grid for her horrible dead father who insisted on marrying her off to anybody who happened to be the dratted earl …. even if she could be carrying her lover’s child.
That’s the one I’m waiting for in particular….Don’t leave us hanging for long !!!!

First off, I’m so sorry to leave you hanging, Marie. I hate that myself. I didn’t intend for it to be that way, and I wasn’t even sure that’s what I was going to do until the end. Without giving anything away for other readers, discovering truly how awful her father was was a shock for Arianna. I wanted to give her space to adjust to that and her new circumstances. And though she might not grieve for her father as the man he was, she would grieve for what he’d done to others. He visited a lot of havoc on the Blackmores. The events at the ending changed both of them and I wanted Robert and Arianna to be able to have their Happy Ever After without all the darkness overshadowing them. And though Arianna wouldn’t want to leave an injured Robert, neither did she want to cause the family anymore grief by having around the daughter of a man who brought them all so much pain.
Wow, that sounds like a downer. I better give them a damn good happy ending. Thanks so much for reading and enjoying the Pleasure Series. Though Uncommon Pleasures, Kera and Marcus’s story is next (early 2014), I will make Robert and Arianna finding each other again next.
