Welcome Fall.

Originally I titled this post as Happy Fall though I wasn’t feeling it. I settled on Welcome Fall because it’s coming whether I like it or not. Russ took this picture while driving home from the desert. He pulled over to take this pic, purposely getting the burned out tree. Unfortunately, it’s a reminder that we are in the mist of fire season. I live near the coast, but have put up some of my East County friends over the years. Fall is a bit different for me in So Cal.  I see the brittle brush of a dying year more than a vibrant burst of colors in the trees. Palm trees don’t change colors. But I guess that sense of the beginning of the end of the year is universal.

I’m already missing the Lazy Days of Summer though it’s still all around me. It’s prime beach weather in Carlsbad. I spotted my neighbors  piling into a car to head off to the beach. The sundresses with bathing suit straps showing were a dead give away. More power to them. I smiled and saw more beach bums at my little Von’s while I picked up grub for Monday Night Football. Fall has officially arrived and I better get used to it. Could Christmas music EVERYWHERE be far behind?

Here is a really cool video of a pig rescuing a baby goat that has nothing to do with this post. Makes me feel guilty about putting ham in my salad. I’m hearing the theme to Mighty Mouse in my head when I watch this video.
